Joining The Hope Water Team Again

This morning started off with waking up at 3:45am in order to get to Johnson Park by 4:30am. Doing 15 miles I needed to make sure I could get my run wrapped up by the time the HWI Team met at 7am. I got done with plenty of time to hang out with the team before things got started.

Things turned out way better than the previous week’s run. On top of that I pretty much got in a consistent pace for the entire run which is pretty unheard of for me. It sounded like many had a rough last week. When the miles start creeping up things move to another level and your body is going to get stretched out of it’s comfort zone. In order to hit that half or full marathon mark this is exactly what you should expect. In 8 more weeks a bunch of the HWI Team will be hitting milestone firsts. Those of us veterans need to remember to come alongside the first timers and give them the support and encouragement they need to cross that finish line.
