Race Pace Training Run

Only a little wet this morning but it actually felt good by keeping things cooler. Tried to keep at a race pace but as usual my pace was a bit of a roller coaster. Even with music I can’t keep it very consistent from one minute to the next. I need to work on that, but perhaps my consistent race pace is slower than I’d like it to be and that’s why I have such a hard time. I know that I was pushing the limits given how high my heart rate would get.

I think maybe it’s time to put aside the training plan that is trying to get me faster and just get out and enjoy the run. Not saying I didn’t enjoy it, but these sorts of training runs get me off the focus of why I’m running to begin with.
