Providing More Than Just Clean Water

Putting in a well in a village in Africa is not about just dropping a handout to people and then moving on. A well is the start of helping a village help themselves. The responsibility of the well, and the well-being of the village, is on a team of leaders from the village. A real example of the saying, “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and feed him for a lifetime.”

It was a pretty good recovery run today. I was happy to have such a good pace after my 20 miles on Saturday. I could tell that I was still a little sore but easily on track for the week.
